A first look at Sorting
Transcript:
Okay, if it takes you 20 minutes to cook for one person, how much time does it take to cook for two people? Slightly more than 20 minutes, 25 minutes, maybe 30 minutes. But definitely not double the time of one person.
But this is only for cooking. For sorting, if you have to sort some things, put things in ascending order or alphabetical order or something like that — if it takes you 20 minutes to sort one shelf of 20 books, sorting double that, sorting one shelf of 100 books takes you much more than twice sorting each shelf of 50 books.
This is interesting. Sorting does not have economies of scale, as does cooking.
