Anyway, so in this cup, there is a penny at the bottom — you can see. There's a one-cent coin, and I'm going to move the cup just so you can't see the penny anymore. So there's the penny. Now you can't see the penny.

And now watch what happens. I'm going to pour some water in the cup. And look — magically, now you can see the penny. This is because the ray of light that is now going from the camera into the cup is being bent by the water. And now you can see the penny, when without the water, the penny was not visible.
