Deep Dive into Patanjali’s Yog Sutras
Transcript:
Do you know why before beginning any practice of meditation or breathing exercises or whatever, the instruction is to do some yoga postures, to do some yoga asanas before beginning the practice of meditation or breathing exercises? Why is that?
Most likely the reason that you have been given is that doing the yoga postures dislodges this guna of tamas or inertia so that the breathing practices and the meditation becomes more effective. That is only part of the answer.
There is a deeper insight that we get when we do a deep dive on the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and understand what Maharishi Patanjali is saying when his instruction is to do the asanas before the pranayama. There is a reason why he says it.
If you don't know what the reason is and you are curious to learn, we are starting a deep dive into the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. It's going to start on the 13th of May, which is Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's birthday. It's a series of 33 sessions. The next image gives you the details of registration.
So join us as we take the deep dive into Patanjali Yoga Sutras.
