Good friends, chai & FPSO!

Transcript:

So, we spent the whole day today on board an FPSO. You can Google it. An FPSO is an interesting ship with a whole chemical plant which is built on the ship, and the ship actually floats. It goes to the middle of the ocean and it processes oil and cleans up the gas that comes with the oil.

But that is not what was interesting today. In the afternoon, we were walking in the office space, and I heard somebody shouting, "Garam paani tayyar hai." And I said, "Wait a minute. This dude, if he is saying, 'Garam paani tayyar hai,' he must be making chai." So I went to them and I said, "Chai bana rahe ho kya?"

And his eyes opened this big because he never expected an Indian guy to be on an FPSO during pre-commissioning and start-up work. It hardly ever happens. Then we got talking, and he realized that I am from IIT, and he says, "But wait, you are from IIT. So how come you are not in some high managerial position?"

And then he felt actually compassionate for me, thinking that I had actually broken bad, you know, like this. But anyway, I let it be. I didn't tell him exactly what I do, but we made some good friends.
