Pinch & Zoom Digital Photos

Transcript:

So, I see people when they are taking photos on their iPhone or Android, they tend to pinch and zoom in and then they take the photo. It makes no difference. Pinching and zooming makes no difference because the zooming on the iPhone and the Android is digital zoom. It's not optical zoom.

In fact, if you pinch and zoom, the photo actually suffers; it becomes pixelated because small vibration of the hand is digitally magnified, and the picture becomes blurry.

If you want to get a small portion of a photo, always take all photos in 1x resolution. Point it, let it focus, click. After the photo is taken, you can use a cropping tool to crop the area of interest. That's it. Pinching and zooming actually worsens the photo.
