The Reminiscence Bump
Transcript:
Okay, let's do an experiment. So sit in a room just by yourself, not many people in the room, and take a couple of breaths in and out and simply reflect on life events that have happened to you in your life. Just whatever events come, let your mind go back and reflect on the events that have happened in your life.
Do this for about 5–7 minutes and then after the time, actively make a note of which events came to mind when you are doing this exercise.
You'll be surprised to find that the events that came to mind were usually between the ages of 10 to 30. These are the events that come to mind when we let the mind actively reflect.
This is called the reminiscence bump. It's very interesting. We don't know why it works, but that's how it happens.
So let me know if it works out for you.
