Trash or Rubbish
Transcript:
So a couple of weeks ago, I was on a flight from New York, New Jersey, to London Heathrow. I was sitting in the middle section of the aeroplane. It was a twin-aisle aeroplane. I was sitting in the middle section, so there was an aisle to my left, and on the other side of the seats, there was an aisle to my right.
While preparing the cabin for landing, the flight attendants would walk down the aisle collecting all the service items.
It was very interesting because the attendant that was on the left aisle would say, "Trash! Trash! Collecting all the trash!" And the attendant on the right aisle would say, "Rubbish! Rubbish! Any rubbish to give away?"
So because the attendant on the left aisle was an American native, the attendant on the right was a British native. And it's pretty interesting how one used the word "trash" and the other used the word "rubbish."
