[SK] Terrible, lousy, is the shittiest Sunday ever. Something. Or is the best Sunday ever? Whatever. It doesn't have to be like this. It doesn't have to be like this. It could be like this. It could be like this. It could be like this. Everything is fine.

[Participant 1] Good.

[SK] Good. Good is very boring. I don't like good.

[Participant 2] Excited to be here.

[SK] Excited to be here. I have that effect on people.

[Participant 2] Yeah. Absolutely.

ये कितना उल्लू question है, tea is doing only good things, it is making you productive, it is making you alert, it is making you this and this, मेरेको वो सब नहीं चाहिए, I don't want my life to be good. Are you mad? If the question was tea is making me very angry, slap people, drive through red lights or something like that, I can say stop tea, it is making your life disastrous. But here everything is going well with tea. But you are saying I don't like the good things in my life. I don't understand. It's a very interesting question. For the first time in my life somebody asked me I have good things happening to me but I don't want them to happen to me. I want only bad things to happen to me. Wow! This also happens in life. Never thought.

So I will tell you the funda of tea. So there is a brain and there is blood and there is a blood brain barrier that prevents the blood from mixing into the brain. If the blood goes into the brain, it's a disaster. You will die in seconds. It's called hemorrhaging of the brain. The blood brain barrier has been pierced by the blood and it's just chaos. So what happens? Caffeine is one of the few molecules that can from the blood stream go past the blood brain barrier into the brain. Caffeine is one of the few molecules. Which is why you get the pseudo high when you drink coffee or when you say wake up in the morning. Most people say oh I want my pick-me-up coffee or your pick-me-up tea or chai or whatever. It is not pick-me-up. At that point in the morning, the pick-me-up effect is not coming from the caffeine. You are dehydrated. Because you are dehydrated, you feel lethargic in the morning. So you are artificially stimulating the brain via the caffeine molecule. Which is why now you feel alert.

When you get up in the morning, drink water. A couple of small glasses of water you drink everyday. Then of course, first you brush your teeth. I am not telling you to drink water first. First you brush your teeth, drink water, two glasses. Then you see that alertness will automatically come. You will not need that cup of chai. But there is nothing wrong with the chai. Don't abuse the chai. Don't abuse the chai.

The other thing you can do is you can do Sudarshan Kriya. Because Sudarshan Kriya is the other technique that affects the release of certain species. I don't want to call it hormones or this. But certain species. They are essentially hormones. But they are not. They are precursor to hormones. Anyways, so these things are released because the gene expression changes all that. There's a whole research on this. When you do Sudarshan Kriya, those same molecules now go across the blood-brain barrier and the feeling of well-being and alertness goes up. So then the addiction to the chai or the coffee gets weaned out and the life-sustaining alertness happens if you do Sudarshan Kriya. So these are two things you can do. Drink water in the morning and do Sudarshan Kriya, not regularly, daily, every day. If you don't understand the meaning of the difference between regularly and daily, you go watch Physics of Pranayama. It is explained crystal clear in that talk, the difference between daily and regularly. So no regularly business. Daily you do Sudarshan Kriya, automatically your thing for chai will be gone and then you will drink chai just to hang out with cool people like me. If you drink chai, you can come hang out with me.

0:11:21

There is no one who can catch light and throw it. It is an impossibility of physics. It cannot be done. So when you say throw light, I don't even know what to do. Some photons in my hand and I throw it. No, I already explained the Physics of Pranayama. Go read the set. Go watch the session again. I already explained it in excruciating detail. And at the end of the session of Physics of Pranayama, there is a link to join a discussion group for Q&A and all this. So click that link and then join the discussion group for Q&A and ask the question there. If you have any details that maybe you did not understand or you want to know a little more about that, you do that. But you cannot ask me broadly, throw some light on it. I don't even know what that means, throw light. I can shine light. I can take a torch and then I'm shining light. I'm not throwing anything, putting a spotlight on.

0:12:52

It's good. If it's becoming mechanical, it's good. But if it's becoming mechanical with awareness, that's even better. See, when sadhana practices become mundane and effortless and easy, then only the difficult things will start happening in life. If you are struggling with the sadhana practice itself, then what? You will be stuck to pranayama. Eventually, you will transition away from. But becoming mechanical, if you lose the reverence for it, then it is of no use. So if you have kept the reverence for the pranayama and also it has become mechanical, that's a huge thing. That is really, really amazing. For most people, it's not happening. But for you, if it's happening, it's brilliant.

0:14:18

Yeah, so that's the recipe for disaster. If you become dispassionate in the interaction with the outside world and become passionate about your sadhana, it's a recipe for disaster. You will fail in both. You will fail in your worldly affairs and you will crash and bomb your sadhana also. 100 percent guaranteed. Flip it around. See come. So passion and dispassion are just complementary opposite things. But they have to be applied in the right place. So passion is for interaction with the outside world. Be 100 percent passionate. Go get that red Ferrari I'm telling you. Go get it. But when you sit for meditation, when you sit for Sudarshan Kriya, when you sit for Pranayama, invoke dispassion. That's the key. Invoking dispassion. Dispassion in sadhana, passion in the outside world is a recipe for success. Doing it the other way around is a recipe for disaster.

0:15:49

No, it doesn't need passion. It just needs discipline. It needs the first sutra of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Now I will explain the discipline of yoga. Why do you need discipline? If you don't know the answer to why you need discipline, if you have not understood a damn thing about Patanjali, even if you think you have understood Patanjali, which I don't think so. Otherwise you would not be here in the session. The very fact you are here in the session means that Patanjali has gone. But we are starting a session Patanjali from next Sunday, Guruji's birthday, 13th of May. We are going to start the new recording. So he has done the new recording of Patanjali, where he goes sutra by sutra. And we will take a deep dive into the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. And there you will understand why dispassion is necessary, how Patanjali can be made practical, all that stuff you will learn.

0:17:37

Yeah, so the answer to the question, this thing in front of me, how does it work? That is physics. It's a very short answer. You want it in short. I gave you a short answer. Done.

0:18:2

[SK] Yes.

[Presenter] That's all that's written.

[SK] Yeah, answer is yes.

0:18:17

How you can do meditation long time and feel the power of vibes? When you meditate for a long time, you will feel the vibes. It's physics. It will happen. See, the problem is your definition of the word meditation. You think, sitting with eyes closed for 3 hours, so meditation is happening. Don't even kid yourself. You are not meditating. Once you meditate, even for 5 minutes, it's enough. The reason we do Sahaj for 20 minutes is that it takes 15 minutes for the 2 minutes of Sahaj to happen. If I tell you to do Sahaj for 2 minutes, you will never do Sahaj in your life. So, Guruji said, okay, sit for 20 minutes. Do Sahaj for 2 minutes in 20 minutes. It takes a long time for the mind to settle. So, meditating for a long time is a fallacy. It takes an advanced meditator to meditate for a long time. So, people like me who are jokers, we cannot meditate for a long time. We can do barely 20 minutes of Sahaj twice a day. Anyway, next.

0:19:56

The title of the session is Physics of Pranayama. What more do you want me to do? Oh my God. USA App pe hain, there are so many places to go do the Physics of Pranayama, and it's very complicated. I mean, I didn't even get into the rhythms and mechanics and the cycles and all this stuff. I didn't even do that because it's just too complicated. The effect of harmonic variations of breath on the mind and all this stuff, I didn't even cover. It's just too complicated to cover all that. So I gave you the basics of it. Do that much.

0:20:55

Yeah, yeah. So after every sadhana practice, you don't bless. You ask for forgiveness. You just say, okay, if I have done anything wrong to you, please forgive me. I am as ignorant today as I was at the time when I did this wrong to you. Genuinely, after sadhana, you say that. Finished. And then it's done. You don't have to bless. Who the heck are you to bless that person? You have done them wrong. You have to apologize. When you have to say sorry, you say sorry. Genuinely.

Boss, it was a mistake. Billu Barber देखा हैं? The name of the movie might be Billu. Irfan Khan owns Shahrukh in that scene when he says, This is the power of apology. Genuinely just have to say, sorry. You don't have to make a whole song... Boss I am really sorry, I screwed up. Done, finished.

0:23:30

[Presenter] Anxiety problem.

[SK] Yes. Okay, next.

[Presenter] That's the question.

[SK] That's the answer, yes.

[Presenter] The next is constipation.

[SK] Oh, yes. Most definitely, yes. Okay, next.

[Presenter] Negative thoughts?

[SK] Yes. Of course, yes.

0:24:3

Yeah, yeah, of course. But there is a criterion to work with me. If you're a Jai Gurudev type person, I don't even want you anywhere near me. If you're a person that takes a commitment and delivers on the commitment without me having to follow up with you 50,000 times with no excuses-- All that bullshit is not there. Then you work with me. But if you're a Jai Guru-- I don't even want you near. Get out. So if you're this person who's not a Jai Gurudev type person and who can deliver on the commitment that they take, please contact one of the admins, Sumit or Prathishtha or somebody. And we will figure it. We'll do a Q&A with you, like not Q&A. But we'll ask you what your background is and all that. If you are not like a complete loser, then we will take you. So yeah, sure.

0:25:13

So what is anxiety and depression? That's the question. So there are people who understand the working of the brain. Oh, Hindi में, आयोह! Hindi is like Anthony Gonjalvis.

आईसा Hindi में मैं बोलूँगा, I will say. There are two things. Only if you are clinically depressed. आप doctor के पास गए और doctor ने बोला के यार, you are clinically depressed.

आपको clinical depression है। उस time, once you know clean, आप लेलो, medicine जो भी दे रहे है लेलों, उसमें कुछ problem नहीं हैं। You will be out of depression. At that time, when आपका clinically, when you are diagnosed, clinically you will say, की एंक्साइटीज़, I mean depression से निकल के anxiety में आ गये हैं आप।

And क्रिया, once, ज़बी आप anxiety में आ गये, so क्रिया will be reduced to one time. उसके बाद guaranteed, you will be out of anxiety also. 100% guaranteed. You be in contact with the doctor because diagnosis only doctor can do. I cannot do. I can just give you alternate ways of managing it.

0:28:46

See, what happens is for people like this, they don't bank the instances where the gratitude comes. It's not that there is no gratitude that is happening in your life. You're just not paying attention to it. You're not paying attention to the things that are working in your life. You're paying attention to the things that are not working. You know, this is what's happening. So switch it, pay attention to the things that are working. Suppose you are driving and you get six green lights, one after the other. Wow. You have to recognize that. (speaking in foreign language) But even if you get six green light, you come back at home and say, that bloody traffic, these people are cutting here and there and there.

You're looking at the things that are not working in your life. You're focusing on that. You're looking at those people who are cutting you off on the road, even though you've got six green lights, dude. Come on, wake up. You have to do that conscious shift. What are you paying attention to and what are you giving importance to? Very simple thing. I made a reel on it. The universe does not understand the word not. Universe doesn't understand the word not. You say, I do not want to get angry, the universe understands it. I do want to get angry. You will get angry. Universe does not understand the word not. I do not want to hit this tree. You will hit that tree. Universe doesn't understand the word not. You focus on what you want. I want this. Then the universe will give. If you say, I do not want this, that not gets filtered out. That's how the universe works.

0:31:8

How do you know it's a she? It could be he. Gender biased. Why do you think only girls are sensitive? Guys like me are super sensitive. No, sensitivity is a good thing. Sensitivity is not a bad thing. But having strength, the strength if you can be strong from the inside and be sensitive, you are unshakable. Most people who are strong are not sensitive. Most people who are sensitive are not strong. Your chance is to be both. You have the strength in you. You ask the question here. It takes lots of guts to ask a question in the public forum. I'm sensitive. You already, you're very, you're quite strong. You just have to find it.

0:32:34

I told you, Physics of Pranayama. Did I not say? Are you guys not even like, have you not watched Physics of Pranayama? If you have not watched Physics of Pranayama. Yeah, the most scientific explanation of pranayama is given by Maharshi Patanjali in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. Come on the session starting on next Sunday, 13th of May. We're going to do a deep dive into Patanjali Yoga Sutras. There you will understand what Maharshi Patanjali means by pranayama. So we'll see you on Sunday.

0:33:46

When did I say? You see, when you say once you have said, it gives me a chance to deflect. You know, what is a leg glance in cricket? You just glance it. Finished. So when you say you had said, I can say when did I say? I completely glanced the question. Yeah, I'm a smart guy. Well left. You know, the most important stroke in cricket is to leave the ball. Leave it. Most important. Once you leave the ball, you cannot get out. The most important stroke in cricket is to leave the ball. Yes, I said it. Meditation means uninterrupted thought. Holding on to one of them. That is called Dhyan. Dhyan lagla in Marathi, I mean Marathi is called Dhyan lagla. Dhyan lagla means you can hold on to one thought uninterrupted.

It’s very difficult to do that. So Guruji flipped it around. He said, let the thoughts come randomly. Don’t pay attention to any thoughts. This is easier to do than to hold on to one thought. So Guruji just made it easier. Once you are okay with random thoughts coming out and not paying attention to them, then the process of holding on to one thought becomes easy. This is dharana.

This is dharana. Dharana means holding on to one thought or one object for arbitrarily long time. This is not very easy to do. So the first step towards attaining dharana is to say, I am okay with random thoughts. Start disassociating yourself with the thought. Only then dharana can come. Dharana means what? Of those zillions of thoughts, you choose one and you hold on to that one. Very difficult to do. That is why Guruji made it easy. He says, okay, all the thoughts are coming. Don’t pay attention. Take the mantra. All that we saw in the Sahaj refresher. You and I came to Sahaj refresher. I explained all this stuff in Sahaj refresher.

You don’t come to Sahaj refresher. Then you ask me Sahaj refresher question in Chai and Why, This is not fair.

0:36:57

I don't understand this. See, if you had come, if this was an in-person session, suppose we were in one room like this, in-person, You would not do that, right? Then why are you doing it on Zoom? I don't understand this whole way of working. I never understood it. People come for Kriya on the Zoom, like the Short Kriya. Video's off. "अबे, जब तुम क्रिया करने room में आते हो, Long Kriya, तुम क्या ऐसा परदा करते हो? ये तो teacher को मैं नहीं दिखना चाहिए।" You'll bring like a curtain with you. No. Then why are you doing it on Zoom? I don't understand this way of thinking. I just don't get it. What happens? You think your background is not very good. Who cares about background? It's not about the background. Go watch a video on YouTube. It's called "It's Not About the Nail." It's not about the nail. Watch it. It's hilarious. It's incredible.

0:38:50

[SK] Okay, so now you have to define… this is a lot… it’s a very tricky question. How do you know when you’re completely in the present moment? How do you know? What? Okay, give me a set of five criteria that if I check out. Criteria one, done, two, done, three, done, four, done, five, done. Now, if those five criteria are done, then I can call myself completely in the present moment. Give me the list of five.

[Participant] I think I’ve never been in the present moment that completely to for me, it is like, okay, I’m enjoying what I’m doing. That is my present moment.

[SK] Yeah, so then there can be thoughts also there, right? As long as it doesn’t take you out of what you’re doing. That thought is not a problem. The thought becomes a problem when you get distracted by, let’s say you’re playing with a rubber band.

And then some thought comes, "Yaar!" Then you lose that charm of the rubber band. Then you are out of it. So, being fully present with it, with something, with no push-backs, like, "Oh, this is so sticky." Maybe the rubber band is, you know, suppose the rubber band has come out of a jar that had honey in it. "Ah, then now it's chipak, chipak." It's like that. And you say, "Yaar! Ay, ay, ay." Now you're gone. Now you're not in the rubber band. You're in the stickiness of it. Then you're not with the rubber band. So, when you're fully present with something, okay with all the destractive, destractive things that are associated with that thing, then that's it. Whether there is a thought or no thought, it does not make any difference. So, don't make a concept of it, "Oh, present moment only happens when there is no thought." Then you will never get there because it becomes a concept in your head.

[Participant] Okay. So, how do you know you're in the present moment?

[SK] Why do you want to know?

[Participant]  Because you want to bank it.

[SK] Ya, so then you will know. See, banking only happens after the fact. You cannot bank it during. Your knowledge only happens after action. We talked about that, right? So, action has happened and then you pay attention to what has happened and you say, "Oh, wait a minute. This was gratitude." Then you bank it. It only happens after the gratitude is over. When you're in gratitude, you cannot bank it. Then you'll be out of it. That's the trick to banking stuff. So, you're in the zone and after two days you'll say, "Oh, wait a minute. That was the zone." Then you already banked it. Simply the mind goes back and recognizes it. That is automatic banking. Then you will draw on it when it has not happened. That's how it works.

Banking means... Okay, most people don't even know what the heck is banking. So, please come on, Patanjali Yoga Sutra. Then you'll understand what is the meaning of banking. Then things will be better. Yeah, so banking happens only after the... What has to be banked has finished and then it gets banked. I don't know. Does it make sense?

[Participant] Yeah. Yeah.

[SK] It is out of phase. Do you understand the meaning of out of phase?

[Participant] No.

[SK] If there's a sinusoidal voltage and there's an oscillating current and then things are out of phase, they're in phase. It means when the peak of one corresponds to the peak of the other, then they are in phase. And if the peak of one corresponds to the trough of the other, then they are out of phase. You did it in basic physics, right? Like 9, 10, 11, 12, right? You've forgotten. So, the thing to be banked and the process of banking are out of phase by a little bit. Right.

0:45:4

I know who's asking this question. If the mundane doesn't become effortless, then how can you spend time on the hard stuff? All your energy is finished doing the mundane things because it is not effortless. You have X amount of energy. You have 100 units of energy.

If you put 90 units of energy in the mundane activity, so difficult part It is difficult. That 10 units is going to do nothing because it is a difficult thing. You need at least 65 units of energy to even start making a dent into the difficult things. Where will you get that 65 units of energy from? You only have 100. So the mundane has to be made effortless. Otherwise the difficult cannot be even attempted.

How will you do the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Ashtavakra Gita and the Narad Bhakti Sutras, which are the difficult things? How will you do it? It's impossible for you to do it. So that's the role of the Guru. The Guru makes the mundane effortless so that you have time for the difficult. That's what a Guru is. And the joker just explains what it is meaning. That's the role of the joker.

What are the mundane things you do? Everything you do is mundane. All your energy is gone in the mundane things. Hence the difficult things are not happening. No. It's gone up the head. Because there is no energy there. Yeah, that's the difference. Go watch a documentary on YouTube called Bradman and Tendulkar. By God, it's an amazing documentary. It's from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, ABC.

The insights of these two great batsmen, you can see how much effort they have taken to make the mundane effortless so then they can focus on the hard part of cricket. Once they focused on the hard part of cricket, that is when they became the greatest of the great. Amazing documentary. Bradman and Tendulkar. Brilliant. Then you'll understand what it means. Okay, done?

0:48:39

Only if you're a sincere. It's going to be tough. I'm telling you, it's not going to be easy. It's not going to be some, "Oh, no, no, no, Jayaguru type..." No, it's going to be very rigorous. Your concepts will be broken.

I guarantee you that. There will be some homework to do before and after the video. A lot of stuff to be done. Just like a proper course, which is why you're paying a fee. You pay the fee because you're going to get a lot of stuff. Whatever is worth learning is never for free, by the way. Whatever is free, run away from it. It is useless.

Okay, this session is free. It's also useless. I give you that. You're not going to get a damn thing from this session.
