Husband Wife Good Friends

Transcript:

So, it's been two years since the pandemic began in 2020 that we've had colleagues in Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur, where we have not seen themselves face to face. We only met on Google Hangouts or Zoom or such online meeting portals, but it was so nice to finally be able to travel and meet people in three dimensions.

One of our colleagues, he shared an interesting story. What he said was he and his wife were locked down in a small apartment in Kuala Lumpur for two years. They did not see anybody else. It was only him and his wife. That's it—two people. And what he said was their relationship transformed from being husband and wife to becoming good friends. This was such a powerful thing to hear. This person is from South Korea. He has not gone back to his country. He has not met anybody from anywhere except he and his wife. And they became good friends.

I can just imagine if my wife and I were in a small apartment for two years, I think we would have just killed each other. I mean, we take stuff for granted. We take our open spaces, our freedom to move around, etc.—we take them for granted. Learn to value these things. These are a gift. These freedoms that we have are a gift. Let's value them.
