Over Organized?

Transcript:

So, are you one of those in whose kitchen drawer you have these compartment things where all the spoons are in one compartment, all the forks are in one compartment, all the knives are in one compartment, and all this other stuff? Do you have this compartmentalization thing? I don't know; it's called a drawer organizer or something like that. Do you have that in your kitchen?

If you remember the series that we did on sorting algorithms—you can find it on the website sandeepkarode.com (you can search for sorting)—you remember that over-sorting is not beneficial. So same way, over-organizing in the kitchen drawer is not beneficial either because think about the brain; your brain stores the information most efficiently. Yet, they are only approximately categorized. It's like this drawer. So you see, all the things are approximately categorized, but there are no compartments in the drawer.

This is my kitchen drawer at home. So the cooking spoons are here. So just like that, all the things are in one place, and over-organization is not beneficial at all.
