Physical & Spiritual Scaling Rules, Part 2of2

Transcript:

Patanjali is talking to the more normal people—the distracted mind. And he is taking them from the state of distracted mind to the state of settled mind. And his rules in the Patanjali's Yoga Sutras are unique to these kind of individuals.

Ashtavakra was speaking to King Janak. And Janak was at the brink of enlightenment. So, couple of words from Ashtavakra triggered the process of enlightenment. And the rules that Ashtavakra gives in his Ashtavakra Gita are unique to those individuals who are at the level of the settled mind, as Janak was.

Narad, for example, is talking to people who are deeply in love and expounding the aphorisms of love. And his rules are formulated for those kind of people. So, the rules are very specific to the people to whom they are being formulated for.

And just like in physics, you apply the wrong set of rules at the wrong length scale—you get tied up in knots. Same thing happens in spirituality. You apply the wrong set of rules to the wrong set of people, and it's all a mess.
