Quantum Entanglement?!?
Transcript:
So there's this graphic that is floating around on the internet. This one. And many people ask me to comment on it. And my short comment on this is that it is borderline wrong; the internet is totally wrong. I'll tell you why.
It is true that when scientists have taken quantum-entangled particles and separated them far enough away, the communication has indeed been faster than the speed of light. So that is true. Except, we should also recognize that communication was completely garbled; it was gibberish. So the communication is faster than the speed of light, but the price we pay for such communication, which is faster than the speed of light as a result of quantum entanglement, is that we lose coherence. That's the first problem.
The second is, there is no known mechanism by which the particles that make up our body have, in the past, been quantum-entangled with the particles that make up the stars. There is no mechanism for that quantum entanglement to happen. So now that we are separated, invoking quantum entanglement-based instant communication is bogus because—there is no start—there is no quantum entanglement to start with.
