The 80% Healthy Food Target!!

Here's an interesting stat: 67% of the calories that are available in, especially in kids meals, come from ultra-processed food. This was a study done in 2018. 67%, that's more than half of the calories come from ultra-processed foods. And it is especially important when we travel for work, we don't have the luxury of home-cooked meals. And we are subject to this ultra-processed food business. 

So, the one thing that I do is to go for locally grown fruits as the primary source. So eat a lot of fruits, and they are available in most of the hotels, there is a serving of fruits. Don't go for the canned version; go for the fresh version. And don't worry about the sugars in naturally occurring fruits; that's not the problem. It's the added sugars that are the issue. Naturally occurring sugars are not the problem. 

And give yourself a break; you don't have to aim for perfection. You can eat healthy 80% of the time, and for the other 20%, you can indulge. You'll be much ahead of the game. Also, what helps make good choices for food is the amount of sleep you have. If you sleep for seven hours, subconsciously, you'll make healthier food choices.
