The Cricket Score Nuance.
Transcript:
So, the World Cup of Cricket is going on. And here's a cool way of identifying which team won by either bowling first, which means batting second, or by batting first, which means bowling second.
So if a team wins by a certain number of runs, which means they batted first. If a team wins by a certain number of wickets, which means they batted second. Because when you win batting second, you only have to score one plus the runs of the team batting first.
So which is why when the score says “India beat Pakistan by six runs,” which means Team India batted first. And if it would have said “Pakistan won by two wickets,” which means Pakistan batted second. Now, it makes it easy if you understand this small nuance of how to say the score.
Enjoy the World Cup!
